Welcome Mark Strohmeier - DD Program Coordinator.

Mark Strohmeier - Delaware District Program Coordinator

The USTA Delaware District (DD) is excited to announce the addition of Mark Strohmeier to our staff. Mark will assume the new position of Program Coordinator and will work closely with District Tennis Service Representative, Kelly Rasero, Executive Administrator, Meg Kempski Bailor, Area League Coordinator, Patti Donato, and the Delaware District Council, to help manage current programming and develop new "Grow the Game" initiatives.

Mark owes his love for the game to his mother, an avid tennis player, who took Mark, his brother and sister to the local courts for hours to share her passion for the game. Mark started taking lessons at McKean High School, joined the USTA to play tournaments, and at the age of 11 made the semi-finals of the Sickle Cell Tournament. In high school Mark played #1 Doubles through his sophomore year. As happens so often, the lure of team sports appealed to Mark so he joined the lacrosse team to be with his friends. 15 years later Mark and a high school teammate decided to start hitting the ball again and his love affair with the game was rekindled. Since then Mark has played on multiple USTA adult men's and mixed teams. Mark still gets out to hit tennis balls with his mom, his brother’s family, and now his wife and daughter, proving that tennis is truly a sport for a lifetime.

Mark is currently a certified Net Generation instructor and is in the process of attaining his USPTA certification. This summer he'll be heading up our summer program at Silverside Swim Club and the Free Tennis Friday program at Glasgow Park in Newark. Please join us in welcoming Mark to the Delaware District Team.
