33rd Annual Tennis in the Streets
Tuesday, May 7
WILMINGTON RIVERFRONT (parking lot near the Westin/Blue Rocks Stadium)
9:00 am to Noon
Every May, close to 1,000 inner city youth are treated to free tennis lessons (up to 6th grade). Ten to twelve mini-tennis courts are set up and pros and volunteers feed balls, hit with the youngsters, hand out prizes and get kids on and off the courts. This event is part of a national effort to generate interest in tennis, by providing free tennis lessons.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Please email Kelly Rasero at rasero@ms.usta.com if you can help out. There will be a volunteer lunch at Timothy's immediately following the event.
