Sickle Cell Tennis Classic Donates $13,000 to A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children.
A $13,000 check from money raised at last year’s Sickle Cell Tennis Classic in Wilmington, DE was recently presented to Wilmington’s A.I.DuPont Hospital for Children. Over the years the Tennis Classic has raised more than $200,000 for Sickle Cell research. Sickle Cell Anemia is a painful blood disorder affecting many ethnic populations worldwide. The event served as the kick-off to the 2008 Sickle Cell Tennis Classic season (the 31st year). This year the tournament will be held the weekends of August 2-3 and 9-10.
