2015 Delaware Tennis Hall of Fame

Congratulations to the 2015 USTA Delaware District Hall of Fame Inductees: Don Altmaier, Mark Centrella, Monique Holloway and Bryan Sauer. All will be honored at a dinner, auction and awards evening at Wilmington Country Club on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Mark your calendars. Proceeds from this event benefit the Delaware Tennis Foundation and the programs they support. Read More

Winter Leagues are Forming!

Winter Leagues are forming! Women's 18 & Over levels 3.0, 3.5, & 4.0. Matches consist of 1 singles and 2 doubles courts, and are played weekday mornings and early afternoons. Each flight will have a team advance to the 18 & Over Delaware Districts, to be held in July 2016. 2015 Doubles Challenge

It was a perfect day for the first-time Delaware Doubles Challenge held at the Wilmington Country Club on Sunday. There were 64 participants, each team played 3-4 matches, and most teams had the opportunity to play on the grass courts. After three hours of competitive tennis, the club prepared a barbeque that was enjoyed by all!Proceeds benefit the Delaware Tennis Foundation that supports tennis instruction and programs for juniors statewide Read More

Tennis Court Fall Clean Up is a Team Effort at Charter School of Wilmington

On a hot, humid day in August more than 20 volunteers turned out to support Scout Troop 2 to help erect new bleachers for the Charter School Tennis Courts and clean up the surrounding area. The Eagle Scout project was developed and led by Charter student Alan Balu that included research, fund raising, and purchase of the bleachers. Alan is also a member of the tennis team. Other volunteers included scout leaders, parents, varsity players, and USTA DD bd members, Al Thompson and Pete Rigby. Read More

Delaware Nightmare Juniors Have Another Great Season

The Delaware Nightmare JTT had another great season with four teams going to Sectionals and the 18s Advanced Team getting a wildcard to Nationals. Two players on the 18s Advanced team will be competing at Nationals for the 5th year in a row: Parker Barton and Vaishnavi Gundakaram. Two teams came in 2nd, the 18s Advanced and 14s Intermediates. Third Annual BBC Guest Bartending Event is a blast

A huge crowd turned out for the third annual BBC guest bartending event. Money was raised to support tennis programming in Delaware and everyone had a great time. Thanks to all the volunteer guest bartenders, MaryLynn Mack for organizing and everyone for coming out. Read More

Another Tennithon for the history books.

Thanks to the dedication and hard work of volunteers including DCC staff, Rob Wirth, Marta Drane, and Troy Donato. Tennithon 2015 turned out to be a great night for all involved. Over 60 young tennis enthusiasts came out to play tennis well into the night at the DuPont Country Club to raise money for the Delaware Tennis Foundation. Read More

Middle States Hall of Fame 2014

The 2014 Middle States Hall of Fame inducted Jay Lapidus, Leslie Pixley, Scott Tharp and Laura Travis on October 17th at Deerfield Golf Club. Over 200 people came out to celebrate their contributions to tennis and the community. Read More

DD Teams Advance to Nationals

Congratulations to the following Delaware District teams that advanced onto USTA League National competition: Fifty-Five Fun (55+ 8.0 Women) captained by Kathy Bevans & Robin LaPerle will represent Middle States in Surprise, AZ from October 31 – November 2, and the Burt team (65+ 7.0 Men) captained by Bruce Burt will compete in Surprise, AZ from March 19 – 22, 2015.
